Hello, My name is Blaine. I am a 6 year old black and tan, short hair, male dachshund. I weigh 15.5 lbs and I'm a chow hound but I've been on a diet and I'm getting close to reaching my ideal weight. I love to play especially with squeaky toys. I travel well in the car curling up in the back seat for a snooze for the entire ride usually. I also love to take walks in the park. I get along OK with other dogs but haven't been exposed to any cats since I came to my foster family. So I'm not sure if I'd want to live with them! Generally though I'm pretty much happy, health, and house trained! I sleep in a crate at night and also kennel when left alone during the day. I'm pretty nervous when I meet new people but once I get to know you I'll be your friend forever. I get along with kids too but don't like strangers in my house so a new home without frequent visitors would be best. Blaine is very possessive and protective of his house. He appears to do OK outside his space but is very nervous and should be closely monitored and kept on a lead at all times around strangers. Please fill out an application www.drna.org
